Quote of the Day...

  • "It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power." Alan Cohen

The Light of Realization

Day 15 - The Light of Realization

As we continue on our journey, the change agent we are looking at today is realization. There are several areas of realization, but for our purposes the simple expectation or goal, is to realize that you are responsible for your choices. We have all heard we are the company that we keep and this is kind of the same.

To reach our higher self, we be must be aware of our thoughts - what we seek out, what we internalize, what we speak, what we read etc.,  The world is full of everything possible - good and bad, happy and sad. The subtle onslaught of everything invades your thoughts and feelings and has the potential to take you away from yourself.

Just as you have the choice to align yourself with like minded people, you must do so with your thoughts.  Surround yourself with those thoughts and words that support and serve you, empower and engage you.  In a previous day we learned the damage negative self imaging and thoughts can have on us, this is the same thing.

Your perspective, your awareness are things you personally can shift. If you try for the most part to surround yourself and your thoughts with that level of thoughts inline with your own personal higher self, you are half way there.  Of course we cannot completely remove ourselves from the world, the news and its influence, you can choose how you "realize" that and transform it into a way that is manageable and doesnt take you away from your level.

If you have some time really work on gaining clarity on the level of consciousness you are wanting to exist in.  Find examples or pictures of things that represent that state to you ie: pictures, sacred objects, words etc., that bring you to feel that you are in line with this place inside you.  Focus and concentrate on this feeling, this awareness.

Then the next time you find yourself in a place of not being in this place, picture how you felt in this moment, reach for your touchstone, repeat your favorite words or mantra.  The goal is to spend as little time as possible in that place that keeps you from feeling the way you want to feel.

Realizing you are in charge of this, and have the tools to get to this place any time you need, will help you to stay at this higher level as much as possible.  It will take some practice to master this, but once you do, you will realize the power of your thoughts.  Master them and you can take on the world.
